MACON, Ga. — A 56-year-old woman is dead after a shooting at a convenience store in East Macon on Tuesday afternoon, according to a report from Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Jones said that two people, a 56-year-old woman and a 79-year-old man, were shot at the Family Dollar on Jeffersonville Road around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about the shooting at 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a press release from the sheriff's office. They say deputies responded to the scene, and found a man and a woman who had been shot inside a car.

The woman was found inside a Nissan Rogue, and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.
