They’ve been around for 25 years. The Japanese-American trio formed in New York City in 1998 (now based in Austin, Texas) and claim to be from the “Z area of Planet Peelander.” They incorporate elements of pro wrestling, Japanese pop culture and science fiction into their performances.
Think Ramones-style, three-chord punk with a full-on cartoonish, performance-art spectacle and you’ve mostly got it. It’s crazy in the best possible ways and we give you our usual “3 Reasons” to see them at the Beachland Tavern this Monday, Sept. 8 :
