WALBRIDGE, Ohio — A Northwest Ohio police officer accused of arriving at a call while drunk has been fired from his job and now is facing criminal charges.
Michael Ervin, 35, who worked for the Walbridge Police Department, is charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing official business, OVI and having a weapon while intoxicated, according to Perrysburg Municipal Court records.
WTVG Channel 13 reports the incident occurred on Aug. 23. Ervin responded to a call from a resident who found the door of their home open and wanted an officer to ensure there was no one inside their home or vehicle.
When Ervin arrived, the resident suspected he was drunk and called a dispatcher, WTVG reports.
Other officers were sent to the home and did a blood-alcohol test on Ervin, which was 0.168, reports
