WASHINGTON — On their first day back on Capitol Hill since their summer recess, a group of House Republicans vowed to continue the Trump administration's federal efforts over the District .

The group led by Rep. Harriet Hageman of Wyoming and Rep. August Pfluger of Texas suggested they are exploring legislative options to extend their oversight over D.C. The speakers touted the success of the Trump administration's federal surge, which is close to reaching the 30-day period permitted by the Home Rule Act .
