Iowa Congresswoman enters race to succeed Sen. Joni Ernst, pledging to support ‘America First’ agenda.

Rep. Ashley Hinson, a Republican representing Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District, announced Tuesday that she will run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Republican Sen. Joni Ernst. Hinson’s announcement comes after Ernst stated she will not be seeking a third term, citing a desire to focus on her family.

“I’m all in. I’m running for the United States Senate to fight alongside President Trump and deliver on the America First agenda,” Hinson wrote on social media platform X. “From securing our border and deporting illegal aliens, to keeping men out of girl’s sports and cutting taxes for working families, I will fight every day for Iowans and our conservative values.”
