The League of Women Voters is hosting a panel discussion next week aimed at educating voters about the Clark County Charter Review Commission.

In November, voters will elect 15 members to the county charter review commission.

The “What Can Your Charter Do for You?” event will feature four panelists, all of whom worked on the original home rule charter. It’s planned for 6 p.m. Sept. 8 at Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St.

Voters approved home rule for Clark County in 2014, which required the county to adopt a charter, a constitutionlike document approved by voters.

A nonpartisan commission to review the charter and propose amendments was established in 2020. It’s made of three members from each of the five Clark County Council districts, all of whom are elected every five years.
