DECORAH -- Jurors have found a former Decorah farmer and beekeeper guilty of murder in the 2017 disappearance of a teen.
Jurors deliberated for about three and a half hours Tuesday before convicting James David Bachmurski, 66, on a charge of second-degree murder in the disappearance of Jade Colvin.
Bachmurski, who moved away from Decorah about a year after the disappearance and wasn't charged until 2024, looked visibly shaken by the verdict.
Jade's mother, LaDawn Colvin died in 2019 without ever knowing what happened to her daughter. The teen's aunt, Tina McLaughlin, who reinvigorated the search for Jade, dabbed at tears as the verdict was read in the courtoom.
The case is the third conviction in Iowa for homicides without a body.
