FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A driver who is accused of having cocaine in a compartment of their Jeep Cherokee was arrested following a traffic stop in Fresno County Tuesday, the California Highway Patrol said.
At around 10:25 a.m., an enforcement stop was conducted on a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee for an equipment violation on I-5 in Fresno County.
During the enforcement stop, the officer noted several factors and tradecraft that led him to believe the driver was engaging in criminal activity.
CHP said the driver of the Jeep declined consent for the officer to search the vehicle. However, a Kings County K-9 Unit was requested and alerted on the vehicle, which CHP said established probable cause to search the Jeep.
