RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Richmond is working to prevent another water crisis by leaning on its regional partners for help.

Over the summer, the City had its first regional water meetings with Henrico, Chesterfield and Hanover.

“Since January, I’ve been building the right team to strengthen our water system, improve City Hall operations, and prepare for the future. I’m encouraged by the progress we’ve made together, and grateful for our team’s leadership, and for the region’s partnership. Just as we are committed to building a thriving future for our city, we are equally committed to making things right when harm has been done,” Mayor Danny Avula said in a statement.
