AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - For the first time since the foundation of the program, West Plains Wolves football was victorious in their season opener.

Matched up against the Seminole Indians, head coach Adam Cummings and the Wolves put on a show at Happy State Bank Stadium, taking down the Seminole Indians 33-10.

“I felt really, really good about that,” says coach Cummings. “Just proud of how our kids prepared. How they came out, started fast, executed really well and then kept their intensity.”

Junior running back Slade Russell was a beast on the ground, going for 170+ yards and a touchdown, adding another one through the air.
