IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - If Iowa wants to win their seventh straight game in Ames, they’ll need a better performance from starting quarterback Mark Gronowski, who managed just 44 passing yards in week one against Albany.
Gronowski says first-game jitters were a factor in his poor performance, and his coaches are encouraging him.
“They kind of keep telling me be the player that you are. You’ve made the throws a million times, you’ve played in a lot of big games, you’ve won the Walter Payton award,” said Gronowski. “Just go dominate where you’re at, don’t worry about everything else, just be confident with who you are.”
