PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - Pueblo County is taking the next steps to finding a new coroner.
This comes after Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter’s attorney sent a letter of resignation on his behalf, and on Tuesday, it was approved by the county commissioners.
At their Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting, the commissioners discussed the process of how they’ll appoint a new coroner.
It’s important to note that for this appointment, an election will not be held.
Rather, the commissioners will start soliciting applications within the next few days.
Then, they will appoint someone to serve as coroner until the next election in a little over a year.
