GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — New data from Visit North Carolina and Tourism Economics show tourism spending in Guilford County rose to nearly $1.79 billion in 2024. The figure represents a 6.6% increase over 2023, according to a news release.

Guilford County remains ranked fifth in visitor expenditures across the state, behind Mecklenburg ($6.4 billion), Wake ($3.5 billion), Buncombe ($2.7 billion), and Dare ($2.1 billion) counties.

Visitor spending supported 11,916 jobs in Guilford County in 2024, a 3% increase from the previous year. It contributed $542.4 million in labor income and generated more than $118 million in state and local tax revenues, offsetting the tax burden for county households by an estimated $212.77 per resident.
