(NewsNation) — Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro believes America has an "addiction" to abolishing fundamental, traditional structures without thought.

"Scavengers are people who look at all the problems that they have, and they blame that on the system, then the idea is that the system has to be torn down," Shapiro said of his new book, "Lions and Scavengers: The True Story of America (and Her Critics)."

He said these people "look at all the problems in [their] life, externalize those, blame the system, and then unify with others to tear down all of the institutions that have allowed you freedom and success."

Shapiro says these people do not often have any idea what they would like to build thereafter, but feel a need to tear down a system they hate and see the "only way to fix thin
