SCRANTON, Pa. — Data centers remain in the spotlight as the state works on bills to build centers across the commonwealth, with about a dozen proposed for northeastern Pennsylvania.

On Tuesday, State Senator Marty Flynn and another lawmaker from Lehigh County hosted a roundtable discussion at Marywood University's Nazareth Student Center in Lackawanna County.

The public utility commission and other groups, including lawmakers and utility groups, were present, raising concerns over the increase in energy and resources required to meet the anticipated demand from data centers.

PPL says it would need to essentially triple its generation in the next 10 years for it to be successful.
