KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a shooting that killed a boy under 16 years old. The department believes it happened near James A Reed Park Tuesday afternoon, but those living in the area say they didn’t hear or see anything.

“The detectives knocked on my door and asked if I had heard any gunshots and I hadn’t,” said Kameica Hart. “I had been in and out of the house to the trash because it was trash day and I was cleaning. I hadn’t seen anything, even between the hours that they said.”

Detectives went door-to-door trying to pinpoint the crime scene. Hart and her neighbors say they checked doorbell camera footage, but didn’t capture anything during the timeframe officers inquired about.
