Fort Wayne will get a taste of a European sweet treat when Crispy Cones celebrates its grand opening Friday.

The new shop at 5129 Illinois Road specializes in fresh dough cones grilled rotisserie-style and covered with cinnamon and sugar or specialty powders.

The cones are filled with spreads, soft-serve ice cream, fruit and various toppings.

Crispy Cones is popular in European countries including the Czech Republic.

The concept has appeared on “Shark Tank.”

The shop will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight Friday for its grand opening. Regular hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Customers who follow the shop on Instagram or show the Crispy Cones app will receive a free signature cone during the grand
