( 25News Now ) - It’s the 2nd week of Boy’s Soccer, but today was the first day of Mid-Illini Conference play. Washington outlasted Metamora on the road 3-0, while Morton, Dunlap, and Limestone also picked up impressive victories. Peoria Richwoods protected the Castle with a big win of their own.

In a matchup of Central Illinois volleyball powers, it was the hosts Metamora holding off Normal West in three sets. Dunlap, Normal U-High, and Bloomington Central Catholic also notched another mark in the win column.

Peoria Notre Dame’s Maxwell Kirby and Lillian Chaddock swept the individual titles on their home course at the Irish Early Bird invite. The Irish were also the Boy’s team champ, with Eureka taking home the Girl’s team title.
