Nebraska Wildlife Rehab, along with the Henry Doorly Zoo, helped a Woodhouse's toad with a tongue protrusion.

According to the rehab's Facebook, the toad showed signs of neurological trauma, which resulted in the protrusion.

Because of the specific care amphibians need, the rehab teamed up with the zoo.

The two were able to get the toad an anesthetic that is specifically made for frogs and fish.

The anesthetic was given to the toad through a bath because they can absorb it "directly through their skin."
