BLACKSBURG — Yes, I was wrong about Miami. Every question I had about the Hurricanes was emphatically answered with a dramatic home win over Notre Dame on Sunday night.

Miami is up to fifth in my Associated Press Top 25 ballot after Weeks 0 and 1. The Hurricanes weren’t ranked in my preseason poll after I entered the season wondering if Carson Beck’s offseason elbow surgery would see him get back to his 2023 form or if he would struggle like he did in 2024, and if all of the NFL talent on last season’s team was adequately replaced.
