Alaska Airlines has long thrived on lucrative partnerships with foreign carriers. As the large, slightly quirky domestic airline from the Pacific Northwest that never flew anything larger than a Boeing 737 , these agreements helped fill its planes while its partners gained access to a part of the US that Alaska held a unique stronghold on.
Today, however, this is changing. Alaska Airlines first announced that it will be significantly scaling back its partnership with Singapore Airlines , then it announced that its agreement with South American carrier LATAM will also be ending , effective as of October 1, 2025 , in both cases.
