A woman has been fined after household waste was dumped next to a litter bin – on her own street.

Jolene Bamber, of Nook Lane, was taken to court by Tameside council after a street cleaner discovered the rubbish on February 15, 2025.

The council said that after Ms Bamber failed to respond to fixed penalty notice letters, the 38-year-old was hit with a £495 fine for dumping her household waste next to the bin on Nook Lane.

The case was dealt with atTameside Magistrates’ Court heard.

Appearing on August 29, Ms Bamber pleaded guilty to failing in her duty of care under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
