The day teenager Kathleen Richards moved into 25 Cromwell Street in November 1977, she sensed something was off. And it was perhaps no surprise looking back, given her landlord was serial killer Fred West.

In her revealing new book about her time as Fred and Rose West 's lodger, she recalled: "As I throw my bag on the bed, I spot a row of neatly-drilled holes along the bedroom wall."

Kathleen quietly alerted her sister Deirdre, who was sharing her room in the infamous Gloucester house, saying, "Look," and questioning, "Are they spyholes?".

During their initial encounter with evil Fred, Kathleen and Deirdre not only met his wife Rose but were also introduced to a young woman Fred claimed was his "lover."
