SSPCA staff are set to vote on strike action after years of 'neglect' over pay.
Union chiefs have told that around 140 members employed by the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) are being balloted.
Members voting on a walk-out include vets, frontline animal rescue workers and inspectors who deal with animal neglect and enforce entry to rescue animals, along with helpline workers who deal with calls from the public.
Trade union Unite have accused bosses at the animal welfare agency of 'neglect' after staff "emphatically rejected a two year pay offer" which amounts to a "significant real terms pay cut".
