FAIRMONT — The jury charged with determining what culpability Ryan Lane held in the 2022 killing of Henry Silver could not reach a verdict Tuesday after a grueling two-week trial.

After six hours of deliberation Tuesday, Marion County Circuit Court Judge Patrick Wilson declared a mistrial after the jury indicated it could not reach a consensus on the five counts Lane faced. Marion County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Sean Murphy charged Lane with two separate counts of organized criminal enterprise, conspiracy to commit a felony (that being murder), solicitation to commit a felony crime of violence and murder in the first degree.
