HAMPTON — One local teen angler is waiting to find out if he landed a world record catch on one of Hampton Harbor’s popular charter boats.

The Atlantic halibut weighed 177.5 pounds, bigger than 13-year-old Jackson Denio, who is 120 pounds and stands 5 feet 9 inches. Denio reeled it in himself at about 8:40 a.m. Labor Day Monday in front of 40 other fishermen watching on the boat run by Al Gauron Deep Sea Fishing .
