Nationally, voters should care that Trump-era Republican dominance in Washington, D.C., has meant a full-on descent into Maoism, complete with state ownership of private businesses, a Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution against “wokeness,” legal persecution for critics of the regime, and a cult of personality that has Dear Leader’s portrait glaring down at us from just about everywhere while Red Hats who commit acts of traitorous violence against the republic are treated as heroes.
