COLUMBIA, S.C. — Temperatures will gradually warm to near normal through Thursday as we head toward the end of the week. A cold front will move through Thursday night, but it is expected to be mostly dry with little impact other than a shift in the air mass.

Warmer weather will take hold Friday and Saturday, with temperatures running above average before another front arrives late in the weekend, bringing a chance of rain into early next week.

Today will feel a bit warmer than yesterday, with highs in the mid-80s and lows tonight in the low to mid-60s. While the air remains dry, a few showers could pop up in the Upstate, though most of that activity is expected to fizzle out before reaching our area.
