ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Bryce Underwood’s very first play from scrimmage in a Michigan uniform was a pass.
When you’re a five-star recruit and highly touted freshman, getting established early in games can be critical to your confidence. And in the Wolverines’ 34-17 win over New Mexico on Saturday, Underwood, already lined up in shotgun formation, took one step to his left and delivered a short strike to receiver Semaj Morgan, who raced down the field, broke a tackle and picked up 11 yards.
