Jennifer Aniston might be an A-list star, but there's one guest list she'd prefer to avoid: the Met Gala's.

In a Glamour profile published Sept. 2, the 56-year-old actor explained why the Met Gala red carpet isn’t for her.

“Yes, I have (been invited), but I don’t go,” she told the outlet. “It overwhelms me. It’s the getting ready, the putting on the dress. I’m a ‘jeans and flip-flops and tank top’ kind of girl.”

Aniston added that while she does enjoy dressing up on occasion, the high-profile nature of fashion’s biggest night brings a different kind of pressure.

“For me, it’s a mental game of… ‘Let’s get dressed up, put on a fancy dress, makeup, get your hair all ‘purdy’ and go sit in a big room with your peers,’” she said.
