Siobhan Egan was hoping for a decent response when she reached out to writers about Barrington Public Library’s first-ever Local Authors Book Expo. What she received was something entirely different.

“Overwhelming,” said Egan, who serves as Barrington Library Community Engagement Librarian. “We had almost 80 authors reply, and originally I had 20 spaces.”

Egan shifted gears with her planning and expanded the event to feature 40 published authors, and pushed into additional spaces in the library — the auditorium, the gallery, the children’s room.

Egan is very excited to bring the Local Authors Book Expo to Barrington. It will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free to attendees and authors.
