AKRON, Ohio (WJW) -- Police have now released about 40 body and dash camera videos related to the armed robbery of a mail carrier earlier this summer.
Officers were called to Cordova Avenue by a carrier who told them he first saw a suspicious person. The carrier said he didn't think much of it until that person approached him wearing a ski mask and waving a gun, demanding the carrier hand over an "arrow key."
The key is one that is able to unlock most all of the older blue mail deposit boxes.
Thefts of the keys have created tremendous concern nationwide among mail carriers for their safety and are responsible for the U.S. Postal Service starting to change the locks on mail drop boxes in all 50 states.
