A St. Joseph County man won big trying a new Michigan Lottery game.

The 66-year-old man, who chose to remain anonymous, recently won $2 million on a $2,000,000 Lucky instant game , according to the Michigan Lottery .

The man told the Michigan Lottery he usually only plays $5 or $10 tickets, but decided to try a new game.

When he revealed a symbol for $2 million, he assumed the ticket was a loser because he never thought he'd win one of the game's top prizes.

“When I scratched off the second ‘$2MIL’ symbol I went back into the store and had the worker scan it," he told the Michigan Lottery. "He handed me a slip that said to file a claim at the Lottery office and that’s when I knew I just won $2 million!”

He purchased the $20 ticket at Lightning Quick Gas N Go #11 located at 1560 E.
