The Port Huron Police Department is continuing to investigate a weekend pedestrian crash that injured a woman, killed her dog and left her toddler unharmed.

Police said the 41-year-old woman who was hit by a vehicle while walking across Pine Grove Avenue on Saturday, Aug. 30, has since been released from the hospital.

Port Huron Assistant Police Chief Jeremy Young said the woman was in the crosswalk near the intersection of Pine Grove Avenue and Sanborn Street when she was hit. She was walking her dog at the time and had a toddler in a child harness backpack who was uninjured.
