A 51-year-old man in Illinois has been arrested and accused of killing his wife after he was allegedly found driving with her dead body in the trunk of his car .

John W. Finney was taken into custody on Monday and charged with one count of first-degree murder in the slaying of 42-year-old Amy J. Finney, authorities announced. According to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, deputies at about 8:03 p.m. on Monday responded to a 911 call reporting a "possible homicide" at a residence in the 7500 block of North Illinois Highway 148 in a rural area of Mount Vernon, a city near the Missouri border around 80 miles east of St. Louis.

In addition to providing the possible location of the crime, the caller also provided a description of the suspect's vehicle.
