New York Jets starting guard Alijah Vera-Tucker has a significant arm injury, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Vera-Tucker is receiving a second medical opinion on the injury but could ultimately need surgery, sources told Schefter, jeopardizing his ability to play this season.
Vera-Tucker, 26, was a first-round draft selection in 2021 and is entering the final year of his contract.
The Jets are counting on the 308-pound Vera-Tucker, who recently was voted as a team captain, to help anchor their offensive line and pave the way for their run-oriented attack this season.
