INGLEWOOD – Inglewood Councilman Alex Padilla has publicly addressed a video circulating on social media of an ICE raid that took place at a car wash in the unincorporated area of Inglewood on Aug. 25.

Federal agents were filmed by Chris Brown, the former mayor of Hawthorne, as he waited in line to get his car washed. According to Councilman Padilla, he gets his car washed there too.

The Inglewood Car Wash is located in the 4700 block of W. Century Blvd., which is not under the jurisdiction of the Inglewood Police Department.

A resident attended the Aug. 26 city council meeting to address the City Council and ask them to designate Inglewood as a sanctuary city and provide legal assistance to immigrants.
