TYLER, Texas — A detective investigating the man accused of murdering a Tyler taqueria owner last October testified Wednesday that the suspect gave inconsistent answers and did not need to use deadly force.
Meanwhile, the defense spent significant time questioning the same detective’s investigative methods during the sixth day of trial.
Scotty Lee Goble, of Frost, is charged with murder in the death of Heriberto “Eddie” Ramirez Jr., 38, of Tyler. Ramirez, co-owner of Junior’s Taqueria, was shot in the restaurant’s parking lot on Oct. 11, 2024. Goble pleaded not guilty last week, with his attorneys arguing self-defense.
