WESTVILLE — Police say a kitchen employee accused of trafficking marijuana into the Westville Correctional Facility received nearly $11,000 through an app.

Jessica Chalupa, 34, of Sauk Village, Illinois, is charged with bribery and trafficking with an inmate, records show.

Police said they received an anonymous tip about the scheme Thursday and were directed to Chalupa, who worked as a kitchen supervisor at the area prison.

Investigators said they viewed several Cash App transactions that they believe show Chalupa received a total of $10,725.

Chalupa denied having a relationship with the inmate in question and initially denied having a Cash App account, police said.
