WACO, Texas — Protesters are gathering ahead of the Gov. Abbott hosted 2025 State of the State Luncheon in Waco.

Organizations such as the McLennan County Democratic Party, Indivisible Waco, Waco Friends of the Climate, Baylor Democrats and more are holding a protest to bring attention to the "terrible state of affairs in Texas," citing issues with the governor's stance on women, public schools and human rights.

The protest will be held from 11:00 a.m. to noon, Sep. 3, at the intersection of the Northbound 1-35 frontage road and MLK Blvd.
