Mounties seized guns, drugs and ammunition during a traffic stop in Dauphin last week.
Police stopped a truck at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 29, after an officer noticed it was driving with a stolen licence plate, Manitoba RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.
RCMP arrested a male driver and a female passenger, and confirmed the truck had been reported stolen, police said.
Further investigation revealed both occupants had outstanding arrest warrants. The man was also driving without a driver’s licence and was impaired by an illicit drug, police said.
“After a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located two loaded firearms, drug paraphernalia, illicit drugs and ammunition. Both occupants were not lawfully able to possess firearms,” the release said.
