DORCHESTER, Mass. (WWLP) - The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday's drawing has risen to an estimated $1.4 billion, marking it as the fourth largest in the game's history and the sixth largest in U.S. lottery history.

The cash option for the prize is estimated at $634.3 million. This drawing will be the forty-first since the jackpot was last claimed on May 31, when a $204.5 million prize was won on a ticket sold in California. The current jackpot is the largest since October 11, 2023, when a $1.765 billion jackpot was also won in California.
