NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A man who had escaped the custody of a federal halfway house is back behind bars now that the North Charleston Police Department and U.S. Marshals found and arrested him.
Master Willie Darold Weathers, 26, is charged with unlawful weapon possession.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and North Charleston Police arrested Weathers at the North Charleston Amtrak station Friday.
Police say Weathers had escaped from a federal halfway house and was trying to flee by train.
When they learned he had purchased a train ticket, they began to surveil the station located on Gaynor Avenue.
That day, when they say Weathers arrived at the station, he came with a woman.
Police detained him before he could board the train.
Officers say that he had two small revolver
