HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The family of the 6-year-old boy who was severely injured after a woman allegedly drove her vehicle into a crowd at the Kipona Festival in Harrisburg on Monday night has released an update on his condition.

The family of Faiz Sharif announced that Faiz is now in stable condition after sustaining "a number of serious, life-threatening injuries" and undergoing "several surgeries."

Police say Faiz has multiple broken bones, including a fractured pelvis, and other injuries as a result of the incident.

"We kindly ask that you continue to keep Faiz in your prayers, and that you allow our family the privacy, time and space we need as we focus on his recovery," said his family on Wednesday morning.
