HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An invisible line separates stability from crisis, but are we always willing to talk about it?

While it may feel difficult, that's exactly what community members are encouraged to do during "Conversations on a Bench," a 24-hour in person and online event where anyone can walk up, sit down, and engage in open, meaningful conversations. The conversations go on rain or shine.

This year, this nationwide conversation is set for Oct. 9 at 2 p.m. until Oct. 10 at 2 p.m.

In Houston, Open Door Mission CEO Brandan Thomas will welcome the public to the bench, located at 5803 Harrisburg Ave. People can sit down, share their story or simply listen.
