UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas — Universal City police said a 9-year-old boy is dead and a woman is facing charges after a stabbing early Wednesday morning.

According to police , officers responded to a call for a stabbing in the 8200 block of Zodiac Drive around 5 a.m. Upon arrival, officers located the caller who police said led them to a boy suffering from stab wounds.

Police and EMS began life-saving measures and the child – later identified as David Medina-Ehanire – was transported to the hospital. It was there, authorities said, that he was pronounced dead.

An adult female was taken into custody and faces a charge for capital murder, but she hasn't been identified.

Investigators are looking into what led up to the fatal stabbing. Universal City PD called the killing an isolated incident.
