BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Zoo is celebrating the birth of a red panda cub, who entered the world on June 15.
The cub was born to first-time mom Himalaya, 2, and dad Mogwai, 4, and is being hand raised by the zoo's veterinary team. Himalaya gave birth to two cubs just before her second birthday. The zoo says despite Himalaya's attentive mom attitude, one of the cubs unfortunately passed away in the weeks following birth.
