The Standard Subs claims to be not your standard sub shop.

The sub shop opened at 1208 E. 2nd St. in Michigan City. Customers can order 6-, 12- or 18-inch subs.

Options include a turkey and provolone, a veggie and The Standard, which has ham, salami, capicola and provolone. They can be topped with Marconi giardiniera.

Not far from Washington Park, it encourages customers to grab subs to-go for the beach.

It’s a spinoff of The Standard 1208 boutique. It uses high-end ingredients like imported Cento Chef’s Cut Roasted Peppers, freshly bakes its bread and offers Joe Chips and Dr. Brown sodas on the sides.

Making its bread fresh daily, it closes early if it sells out.
