ST. LOUIS — A second man is now in jail after police say he and his brother shot and killed a woman outside their mother's home.

Hashiem Thomas, 25, was arrested Tuesday. He and his brother, Aakiem Thomas, 22, are charged with murder in the death of 31-year-old Marilyn Emilien on Aug. 9.

Court documents say the Thomases' mother was arguing with a man outside of a home in the 3600 block of Gasconade Street, just west of Grand Boulevard in the city's Dutchtown neighborhood.

The two brothers came outside, carrying guns.

The man who was arguing with their mother got into a car with Emilien. Aakiem Thomas then opened fire, and as the car drove away, Hashiem Thomas also fired shots, charges say.

Both brothers were charged with first-degree murder, assault and armed criminal action.
