Shoppers browsing the Shein website may have recently spotted a familiar face in the casual shirts section. In images from the company’s website that began circulating on Tuesday, Luigi Mangione — the 27-year-old facing murder charges for allegedly shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson — appeared to be modeling the fast-fashion brand’s offerings. Mangione’s likeness appeared in the product listing for a white floral short-sleeved men’s shirt, smiling and bashfully touching his hand to his neck while modeling a barbecue-ready look for $11.69.
Mangione has been in jail since his arrest in December and, as far as we are aware, has not signed a modeling contract with Shein while he awaits trial. The image is widely suspected to be either AI generated or Photoshopped, and the BBC
